Mo/E Armor Monk Soloer
Before I go on: I posted a screenie of this build in a previous thread and hid most of it because i wasnt done testing it but now im through with it, sorry if posting it with skills covered offended you.
I got bored one day and was kinda bored of farming with 55, so I created a non 55 variation just for fun. This build became more effective then I though, i could survive different situations that the average 55 monk couldn't but this build still has its disadvantages when compared to the 55
Attributes:
8+1(Minor) Protection
11+3(Superior) Smite *Major will do fine since Monk runes are expensive*
8+1(Minor)Divine Favor
9 Earth
Skills:
Crystal Wave or *edit* Aftershock
Shield of Judgement
Zealot's Fire
Reversal of Fortune or Guardian
Armor of Earth
Kinetic Armor
Essense Bond
Balthazar Spirit
Armor:
At least 60 AL which is at least droknars
Items/Weapons:
Any will do, Perferbly something that will just add energy, Enchantment bonus would be nice though.
Useage:
Basicly you throw up Essense bond, and Balthazar's spirit, then you Cast Kinetic Armor, you agro a group and throw up SoJ and Zealot's Fire, I put armor of earth one afterwards, the way this works is, every time you use reversal of fortune, you heal, deal damage, and renew Kinetic Armor, infact with +2 energy regen, you can keep up Kinetic armor for ever by just walking around, and casting reversal of fortune before the 8 second time before it delays
You use SoJ to deal damage and reduce attack rate of all the enemies surrounding you by knocking them down, occasionly spike with crystalwave, and keep using reversal every 3 seconds, if you do it more often they will run away from the zealot's fire, but if you start taking more damage spam it more often to heal more and make them run a way a bit, This build basicly reduces the damage to so very little that you can tank up to a bunch of critters at once.
Examples:
P.S. Please dont flame me about 55 being better, it probaly is, but this is just my concept

yea taht would be nice also but figured SOJ + Aftershock right after each other would cause bad energy downpour, but then again, I get endless amounts of energy most of the time with the +2 Energy Regen + the 2 enchantments, so aftershock might be a good alternation to crystal wave

nice idea, no 55hp monking and still this looks like a good working build that could easily take out mobs

Just tried it out on the Droks trolls. It made me smile knowing that my little monk can solo those without being 55 hp. On the otherhand, using just RoF to heal made me come to the conclusion that it was just a slow downward spiral of death, which tended to speed up as the groups got larger. With that in mind, I took out Zealots and RoF and put in +3 Mending and +7 Healing Breeze (sorta moving back to the 55 setup). Worked well with a group of ~8-10 trolls (the first group inside the cave), but still got me worried when SoJ wore off. Perhaps I might take out Aftershock and put back RoF to make it more durable against even larger groups.
Anyways thanks for the post, as this would be a great way for a new monk to earn money for superior runes.

reversal heals you and keeps up kinetic armor, mainly, strangly i never came to death with this build unless my reversal was interupted, which is very rare because of its cast rate, if i ever do, i use reversal more often so that they run away from the zealot's fire damage and that usually keeps me balanced and safe all if i take a lil too much damage, but also dude, i placed you an alternative as guardian to reversal so that you can dodge a lil and take less hits, but mainly if you start taking too much damage from the current setup, the goal was to use the AoE nerf to your advantage and make them run away a bit then come back and spike them

Nice build. Being somewhat new to GW and only having two level 20 characters, I don't have much of a bank roll. I just tried out this build on the Hydras in Skyreach. I could only take on at most 4 at a time, but that might change if I try putting in Healing Breeze and maybe Mending. I am going to try taking out one of the energy renewal enchantments too. Against the Hydras you have to be careful of getting knocked down by Meteor Storm is all. Getting interrupted and losing Kinetic armor can be deadly.
This build is going to go a long way in getting me the cash to get a +20% enchantment mod. I only have a +10% now. Plus, I bet I'll be able to afford some Superior runes soon so I can try out the 55hp build.
Thanks, Xaeor.

This build = awesome.
I've been using it on the trolls recently and it's very easy to learn/use. I could take down the mob of Avicara outside the cave and up to ten trolls at once. Any more than that, things would get ugly. Aftershock seemed to work better than Crystal Wave...if it didn't get interrupted.
The biggest problem (said already) is when RoF gets disrupted, something that happened to me quite frequently. I'm thinking about playing around with it so that I can drop either Essence Bond or Balthazar's Spirit and take another quick-casting self-heal in case RoF goes down...
Really nice work :)

lol heh, tahts the only time i have ever died with this build, but strangly enough the only time i did get interupted was outside teh cave, im thinking it has something to do with the birds, but if your wandering about fixing that, may i suggest magnetic aura or guardian?

going to try this once my internet is back up at home, but monk runes are no longer as expensive. Like superior absorbtion, monk runes have decreased in value due to the sudden demand for ritualist and assassin runes. When I outfitted my newly made monk the other day I was able to buy all my runes for 3k (exception being 3.1k for healing).
